A message from our founder Master Bruce Wood

As we begin to take the most tentative steps towards what we all hope will be a return to some sort of “normality”, I thought it was time the hard work, fortitude and inventiveness of our team of instructors was acknowledged

Instructor Update

It is my unfortunate duty to announce the departure of two of our instructors - Mr Danny Collins and Mr Lee Walker, both of whom have decided not to renew their membership of the UK Sooyang Do Association, and that, as a consequence, neither are licenced, insured or permitted to teach Sooyang Do, to represent Sooyang Do, or to use the Sooyang Do name or logo in any way whatsoever.  Both Mr Collins and Mr Walker will continue to enjoy my respect, as well as my gratitude, for their contribution to Sooyang Do and I wish them the best of success in their future endeavours.

Sport Relief “hits” some of our Sooyang Do clubs

£500.00 raised for Sport Relief................

Parents, students and Instructors from Sooyang Do Martial Art challenged themselves this Sport Relief by swimming, running and cycling martial art style at their local Aberdeen clubs, and have raised £500.00 in total.

The climax of the fundraising events was at the Beach Leisure Centre, where members from Portlethen, Summerhill and Kintore Sooyang Do clubs cycled 106 miles in their 1 hour cycling slot, in an endeavour to help Sport Aberdeen in their challenge to cycle 1206 miles from John O'Groats  to Land End and back again in 24 hours in aid of Sport Relief. Two Portlethen Junior students, Claire Conniff and Keenan Farquhar also took part in the journey and got their cycle legs on and cycled 13 miles between them.

Colleen McIver our events organiser would firstly like to thank Mrs Farquhar from our Portlethen club, for coming up with the idea of the Sooyang Do Sport Relief games for the children and would also like to thank everyone for their support, participation and their donations, and to Sport Aberdeen for the opportunity to participate in their event and to Mo & Co for their help in sponsoring the Sooyang Do cycling teams t shirts.
